Not Just Another White Kitchen
We had a couple of snowbirds walk into the showroom one afternoon looking to remodel their kitchen. Hitting it off immediately, we picked out the key pieces to their kitchen renovation within an hour. We didn’t know at the time how large of a remodel it was going to be. A BIG plus was that they were flying south for the winter which gave us ample time for design, troubleshooting, delivery in this crazy mess of a world, and installation. This project did require our drafting services as there were major changes that needed to happen. The wall you notice in the below photos needed to go but it wasn’t easy as it contained the HVAC guts of the house but the guys did a great job.
The pantry used to be in the closet where the crawl space access was located. That is no longer! We turned that corner of the house into a laundry room, pantry, and mechanical room. It’s no surprise that without the mechanical room in the middle of the floorplan it opened up the entire main living area of the home give them more space for storage and seating.
Notice the color of the hood – a whitewash mix of “Rosewood” to softly blend with the floor and the rest of the existing house which is a very rich red hardwood. Pre-renovation there was ceramic tile on the floor. That got ripped up and replaced with our Karndean Luxury Vinyl. Their goal for this kitchen was fresh and classy but of course, we wanted to make it look natural.
A true apron front/farmhouse sink is the showstopper on the backside of the island. This is the view you see all the way down the hallway to all of the bedrooms.
The backsplash is to die for and I’ll let you in on a secret – it comes in 6 colors!
Previous cabinetry got re-used in the laundry room.
Just a craftsman admiring his work… or who wouldn’t get out of the shot… you decide. 😉
