Made In America: Center of Design’s Favorite U.S. Made Products.
In honor of America’s 250th birthday, here are our favorite Made in the U.S.A. products…
1. Kuma Stoves
Fabricated in Idaho, Kuma stoves are designed with effciency at top of mind. Stove efficiency refers to the percent of your wood that is being converted into usable heat. Kuma stoves have 78% HHV* efficiency, which means, in the long run, a Kuma stove will help you save money when heating your home.
Kuma stoves also have low emissions which means less pollution in your home and community! Kuma stoves produce 5x less carbon monoxide emissions than most modern wood stoves.
Curious about the newest addition to our showroom? Meet the Applewood (pictured on the left), the ideal fusion of a cook stove and a wood stove. Try baking a pizza, pan frying breakfast, and/or boiling something directly on top of the firebox!
2. 1803 Candles
Operated by Husband & Wife (similarly to Center of Design!), 1803 Candles pride themselves in crafting clean-burning 100% soy candles in Illinois. With summer in full swing we brought in a few new scents, such as Salt & Sea, Blue Willow, and Bittersweet Vine. Be sure to stop in our showroom as we are always burning an 1803 candle!

3. Midland
Midland Garage & Doors are based out of North Dakota. They manufacture a wide variety of looks, though our personal favorite is the Flush Panel style (as pictured below).
4. Tyvarian
A great alternative to tile, Tyvarian Surfaces are low maintenance, can be more cost effective and are manufactured in Utah.
Tyvarian has wall surrounds, shower pans, trim and accessories, all of which you can purchase through Center of Design. Stop by our showroom and take a peek at our samples or borrow a sample to try out in your space!
5. GAF Shingles
At Center of Design we love our GAF shingles! GAF shingles are based out of New Jersey and manufacture their products in California and throughout the midwest and southern portion of the country. We currently have stock of Pewter Gray, Charcoal, Weathered Wood, and Mission Brown (7/1/26). Call (218) 439-4430 for updates on current quantities and colors.
6. Tile: Daltile, Florida Tile, American Olean & Milestone
Center of Design sources many tiles directly from the United States. 80% of Daltile’s tile series are manufactured in the United States (Click Here to browse all American made tile). While it originated in Florida, Florida Tile manufactures in Kentucky. American Olean and Milestone manufacture throughout the country. Want to purchase a tile that is made in the United States? 7. Primo
Based out of Illinois, Primo ceramic grills are another favorite here at Center of Design. From steak, vegetables, seafood, pineapple upside down cake, to grilled peaches and honey, we’ve done it all! Stay tuned for the best recipes to try on your Primo grill! 
8. Minnkota Windows
If you’ve ever noticed a home we’ve built, chances are they have Minnkota Windows! Minnkota Windows are based out of West Fargo, North Dakota and offer both windows and doors, specifically made for our climate.
9. RealStone
RealStone based out of Bagley, Minnesota is our go-to for natural stone.
Our personal favorite way to integrate natural stone is to include it outside and inside the home. Matching interior stone features, such as a fireplace or a shower, to the exterior stone, creates a cohesive feel throughout.
10. TimberTech by Azek
Located in Illinois, Timbertech decking provides the opportunity to expand your living space from the inside out with beautiful maintenance free materials.
